Favorite Love Poems.......... for my Husband

~An Entrapment~

My love, I have tried with all my being
to grasp a form comparable to thine own,
but nothing seems worthy;

I know now why Shakespeare could not
compare his love to a summer’s day.
It would be a crime to denounce the beauty
of such a creature as thee,
to simply cast away the precision
God had placed in forging you.

Each facet of your being
whether it physical or spiritual
is an ensnarement
from which there is no release.
But I do not wish release.
I wish to stay entrapped forever.
With you for all eternity.
Our hearts, always as one.

  1. I love coming here for the poems and the quotes... Although I have used 1/2 box of kleenex. Note to self, read ASW at home...

  2. Gosh girl, I should make a no crying rule......maybe on Wednesdays.... :D

  3. That piano track was the perfect accompaniment to the poem! The pianist sounds very Windham Hill-like, and that's a compliment. Reminded me of Liz Story...

I chased the track's link but didn't register...)

  4. Buck,

I will have to check that out....it is one of my favorite pieces and love to use it with my favorite poems. I play it every morning when I get up as I say a short prayer for my husband's safety....it's calming and always puts me in a good state of mind before my day begins.....
